Xmas Appeal 2022
28 Feb 2022 - 30 Dec 2022
One Kind Act are proud to announce our Xmas Appeal 2022:As the seasons change, we remember that Xmas is now round the corner. The festive period will be harder than usual as families struggle to keep up with the cost-of-living crisis. We have always tried to make a difference each year and whether it is feeding the homeless with NishkamSWAT or providing warm clothing to the charity OFFL for the most vulnerable or buying the neediest children Xmas presents or cooking festive foods with children of vulnerable families at London’s Community Kitchen. All this relies on support from our donors wanting to make a difference. We can’t do it without you. Let’s include another child or family on our Xmas lists this year. Alisha Malhotra's Bright Start Scholarship Programme
03 Jan 2021
Alisha Malhotra, in conjunction with One Kind Act and YUVA Unstoppable, is delighted to announce her Bright Start Scholarship Programme:'Five years ago, after suffering a stroke, I had to put my teaching career on hold. The work I did empowered children to stand on their own two feet. Five years on, I'm returning to education. In partnership with One Kind Act and Yuva Unstoppable, I'm launching Bright Start - An Educational Scholarship Programme to help some of the brightest but most marginalised children in India. Our 6-year programme of education, mentoring and support will help children from 15 years old, through to university and then their first job. This life-changing opportunity will not only help our little heroes but will provide a sustainable solution to helping their own communities in the long term. More than donating money, we are offering you an opportunity to adopt a child for six years. You can get to know them personally, help them grow and inspire them to dream……and together, we can build India's future leaders.' Alisha Malhotra The Cycle of PovertyThe Problem? - Only up to 50% of India’s children go to school, of which 71% come from impoverished backgrounds but who invariably have to drop out of school by the age of 15Why? For reasons totally out of their control - their family poverty, child exploitation, forced marriages, poor teaching, lack of school meals…this sad list is endless. The Impact? This drop-out pattern means these children never get out of their poverty cycle and cannot aspire to dreams they are capable of fulfilling. The Solution? Alisha Malhotra Bright Start Scholarrship ProgrammeBright Start The Bright Start Scholarship Programme provides access to further education to the smartest children in India's most economically challenged families; children who are carefully selected by YUVA Unstoppable via a rigorous selection process that takes into consideration their academic ability and their social economic background (family income less £3,000 per annum). With your support of £1,500 (equivalent to only £250 per year) and a top up grant of up to £500 from One Kind Act and Yuva Unstoppable, we will be able to provide a child from 15 years old with 6 years of education, mentoring and support through university to their first job.Your donation will not be handed over to the beneficiary but will be handled by YUVA over the 6 years to pay for all educational expenses of admission to college, tuition fees, stationery, textbooks, college projects and field trips. And whilst your donation will be directly supporting the full educational needs of the child, our partnership will ensure that the families get any financial support they require to see through their child’s education. In addition to your donation, we offer you an opportunity to effectively adopt your child and get to know them personally through modern technology, mentor them to help them grow and inspire them to dream and realise their ambitions. You will be regularly appraised of their performance and achievements. Education is a human right and a public responsibility. Please help us to help to change the trajectory of the lives of talented children, to invest in a more sustainable future for them and to help them give back to their community in a way that simply was not possible before. How to Donate Sponsor a Child£1500 from your group of family or friends to sponsor a child for 6 years of further educationSelect Sponsor a Child aboveGeneral SupportAny smaller amount to help support ancillary costs of improving upon their educational experience. War in Ukraine Appeal
07 Mar 2022 - 07 Dec 2022
One Kind Act announce our War in Ukraine Appeal.A shock wave has swept across the world at the news of Russia’s unforgivable invasion into Ukraine. A humanitarian crisis is unfolding as hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians reluctantly flee their homeland for the fear of losing their lives. Neighbouring European countries such as Poland, Romania and the UK are doing their level best to accommodate these helpless refugees; so many are just mothers and children as the fathers stay back to fight their war. Food, shelter and clothing will be the basic immediate needs. We are working with our credible charity partners, some of whom are already working on the ground, to provide emergency relief. We will distribute to them the funds raised to buy essentials as the need arises. Your donation can help provide the life-saving support needed right now and in the weeks and months to come.Anyone who wishes to help us to help these unfortunate people, PLEASE DONATE HERE as your act of kindness.Thank you About One Kind ActOne Kind Act Changes Communities and lives of others globally who suffer as a result of Poverty of Health, Nutrition and Education and may have Fallen Through The Net of the larger charities. 09 Jul 2022
One Kind Act are delighted to announce their forthcoming event, Summer Garden Party 9th July 2022:Post Event Update11th July 2022This year's garden party was a summer flirtation that turned into a full romance. Guests ordered cocktails, sipped them, breathed deeply and allowed a swell of giddiness at the beauty of life. Live singing, a limitless bar, a spread of food over 3 courses and a vibe of easy happiness and relaxation made us fall in love with our lives again. And the mood was infectious, with guests pledging, donating, supporting One Kind Act in the mission to spread this love across continents. Our wings are growing.Mona and Raj Bhogal yet again opened their home, their hearts and inspired us with their incredible generosity - personally covering all costs so that over £70,000 raised would go towards dialysis for the poor in Kenya and towards financing an entire school with clean toilets and the latest technology in Goa.We get a much better result with joy if, instead of trying to get the world to make us feel good, we actually concentrate on making the world feel good. Mia’s Birthday Wish
10 May 2022 - 20 May 2022
Anisha McTaggart is delighted to announce her daughter's forthcoming event, Mia’s Birthday Wish:Mia is very lucky, she is able to celebrate her birthday with you all, and we feel grateful that she has such wonderful friends at school. School is where life begins for our kids, not only all the social aspects but having the privilege of free education. Mia has a great fondness of school and the wonderful things she gets to do there. With that in mind, it is important to us that all children have the right to this; unfortunately, that is not the case across the globe. Millions of children do not have access to shelter, healthcare or education, so, how can they have dreams? As a parent, there are causes close to our hearts, and one of them is giving children the right to be educated. We spoke to Mia and she said “mummy why can’t all children go to school if they want to like me, can we build them schools”.For this reason ..... instead of a gift, Mia would prefer if you make a small donation to selected charity One Kind Act, who work with causes around the world that help provide children with the basic right to education. With your help, we can build a better world for these children.Thank you About One Kind ActOne Kind Act Changes Communities and lives of others globally who suffer as a result of Poverty of Health, Nutrition and Education and may have Fallen Through The Net of the larger charities.
