16 February 2015

The children at Oliver Goldsmith Primary School helped raise money for a very worthy cause.

Throughout the week they used their creative skills and made hand crafted cards, friendship bracelets, heart shaped biscuits, cakes and various other stuff to sell for Valentine's Day.

On Friday 13th February, the children and staff helped by donating their time and ideas in order to make this event a great success. They helped by raising money for the charity 'One Kind Act' and by spreading

the love. It was so lovely to see the excitement in the room which had spread across the whole school as everyone was buzzing and took the time to purchase something for their family, friends and loved ones.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the children, staff and school for making this day a great success. I am proud to say we raised a total of £347.60.

As a school we will continue to work together to raise awareness and think about others who are less fortunate than ourselves.

This year children at OGS had an education in love and kindness through the means of charity. The effort that went into creating the many items, as well as the time given in order to make the event a success by children and staff alike was both humbling and heartwarming to witness. Furthermore, having been a part of the staff helping to sell items on the day, I was able to see first hand through conversing with the many, many children just how well the underlying message of the day had been understood. Valentine's day was a true celebration of love, and a tremendous success this year at OGS! Proud to have raised money for such a worthy cause! Arti Patel- Teacher at OGS.
