One Kind Act are proud to announce Kishan and Bhavisha Pankhania's Kilimanjaro Climb for One Kind Act:
We’re incredibly fortunate to have been born and raised in the UK — with access not only to life’s essentials, but also to education, opportunity, healthcare, and the freedom to shape our own futures. Much of this is thanks to the sacrifices and foundations built by our parents and families.
But not every child is given the same start in life.
Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to visit the government-run Balgokulam orphanage in Vadodara, Gujarat. During our visit, we witnessed first-hand the incredible work being done to care for abandoned and vulnerable children — providing them with safety, shelter, food, medical support, and the chance of a brighter future.
The experience stayed with us.
To help support this cause, we’ve decided to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro — pushing ourselves physically and mentally to raise funds that can directly improve the lives of children who deserve the opportunity to dream, grow, and build a future of their own.
Our original vision was to raise £20,000, which would contribute towards:
• New bunk beds for the children
• Mosquito nets to improve safety and wellbeing
• Renovation and installation of new bathroom facilities within the dormitories
As this is our very first fundraising campaign together, we are starting with an initial target of £13,000.
This amount would cover the full adoption and care costs for 10 children throughout their entire stay at the orphanage until adulthood — giving 10 children not just shelter, but a real childhood, stability, care, and an opportunity for a better future.
The costs are approximately:
• 1 year sponsorship of a child = £130
• Full sponsorship through to adulthood = £1,300
This climb will not be easy. It will require months of training, resilience, and determination. But every step we take will be driven by one purpose — creating meaningful change in the lives of vulnerable children.
We’re proud to be partnering with One Kind Act, where every penny donated goes directly towards supporting those who need it most.
If you’re able to support us, no matter how big or small the donation, we would be incredibly grateful.
Together, we can help give children the safety, care, and opportunities every child deserves.
