With the devastation that this wave of Covid-19 has created in India, One Kind Act feel further compelled to continue to help and have made further new grants. This has also been made possible through generous donations made through our new sponsorship partnership with the Prideview Group.
- BAPs - £2,500 to provide medications for/subsidise Covid patients and to provide meals for them and their families.
- SEWA - £7,500 to provide essential PPE parcels and food and going forward, to support families affected by the loss of their main breadwinner due to Covid.
Update - Grant Provided by One Kind Act 26 May 2021:
As the situation in India worsens, we have ensured to work quickly to get the help where it is needed. With this in mind, we have deployed out of the funds raised to date the following grants:
- British Asian Trust - £17,500 to procure, despatch and distribute Oxygen Cylinders and Concentrators to where it was so urgently needed in hospitals, health centres and in the community.
- Yuva Unstoppable- £2,500 to provide survival kits of good nutrition/masks to families affected by job losses or those of frontline workers in India due to Covid.
Details
So very tragically, the unforgiving Covid-19 has created a Tsunami in India, now infected over 23m and killed over 1/4 million people to date. India is not able to cope with the sheer enormity of the problem as they face basic medical and oxygen shortages.
One Kind Act feel an overwhelming sense of compassion to help in any way we can. We have worked very hard to connect up with a number of charities here in the UK, already poised to work on the ground in India to meet this crisis.
So please support us with our INDIA COVID APPEAL for funds to support this crisis. The current dire need is for oxygen cylinders and concentrators in hospitals. The charities we are working with will guarantee that all procurement of such equipment will reach the end point at hospitals, where it is so desperately required.
PLEASE DONATE HERE TO HELP FUND OXYGEN CYLINDERS & CONCENTRATORS AT PRESENT. For your reference, the cost of India-compatible Oxygen Cylinders start from £40 and Oxygen Concentrators start from £300. Your donation will be entirely used towards the purchase of the equipment, and not for any freight and distribution costs.
PLEASE NOTE: Going forward and in the aftermath of this Covid Tsunami, the needs may evolve and the use of funds will change accordingly.
